Matching Exisiting Leadlight

The key to high quality matching of new to old is in the attention to detail.  Appropriately matching the glass colour and texture, the gauge of varied sized leads, and the flow and detail of the design, are the points that will make a good replica rather than a poor and clumsy copy.  Our stock of old and rare glass, along with our knowledge of the history of leadlight allows us to match existing leadlight with the highest level of confidence.

Above is an example of a window that was build to match the existing leadlight in a home in Brighton, Victoria.  The leadlight on the left is the replica, the leadlight on the right is the original, with one hundred and twenty year old glass.

“The (new) leadlights look like they have always been there, they match the (130 year) old windows beautifully” – Sally, Brighton
